Covert Welcomes EP Josh Edwards

Covert has welcomed Josh Edwards as its newest executive producer, bringing a rich background in creative advertising and a strong understanding of how great work is made. After years inside some of the industry’s most respected creative agencies, he joins the studio with a blend of strategic insight, production fluency and a deep appreciation for storytelling.

Josh began his career in IT sales at IBM, “suits every day, zero glamour,” as he puts it, before realising his passion lay in creative work. Drawn to the energy of creative people and the power of storytelling, he moved into advertising and went on to work on major campaigns at adam&eveDDB, Havas and Sunshine for brands including Volkswagen, Skittles, John Lewis, Carling and Jimmy Choo. Most recently, he served as Head of Client Services at Sips & Bites, PepsiCo’s in-house agency.

Ben Dubois, Head of Client Partnerships at Covert, said: “What set him apart was his understanding of the full creative journey, from the spark of an idea to the final execution. That insight adds a lot to what we do, and it was clear he’d fit naturally with the team and our clients.”

For Josh, the appeal was immediate. “It wasn’t just the exceptional output, it was the people. Everyone here is genuinely great, and the Covert model is truly innovative. The emphasis on creativity and problem-solving fits perfectly with how I like to work.”

In his new role, he hopes to open up new conversations with clients and bring a creatively grounded point of view to the studio’s approach. “Covert already produces top-drawer work, and I’m here to help continue that while pushing into what’s next.”

He also believes company culture is central to producing standout work. “The best ideas come from people pushing each other, sharing thoughts and moving forward together. Covert proudly says we’re human, and you can see that in the work.”

For those entering the industry, his advice is simple: “Listening will take you further than anything else. Be nice, listen to everyone and remember we’re all trying to make the best work possible.”
